Holiday How-Tos: Forget About Work

When you’re taking advantage of one of our fantastic holiday lets in Brittany, the 9-5 really should be the last thing on your mind, but when you’re used to spending most of your waking hours thinking about office politics and upcoming deadlines, it can be more difficult than you expect to forget it all for a while and just unwind. We don’t want to think of our holidaymakers wasting precious beach hours by worrying about their working life, so here are our pro tips for forgetting it all – even if it is just for a week or two!

Immerse Yourself in a New Activity

Learning something new, be it surfing, skydiving or even just swimming, gives you something to do with your brain – and all that energy which you’re now exerting on mastering a new skill is diverted away from thoughts of work and other everyday stresses. Choose this option and you really can’t lose; knowing how to do something completely new will make you feel great, give you something to chat about when you’re back in the office, and help you make the most of your time off. It can also be a great way to bring the whole family together – nothing helps people bond better than laughing at those first few attempts to stay on the surfboard.

Don’t Take Any Work With You!

Working on a Wooden Table

It may seem obvious, but now so many of us are tied to our jobs it can be difficult to leave paperwork and other bits and pieces where they belong – back at work. Unless it’s truly essential, which it probably won’t be, leave it all behind; this can even benefit your career in the long run, as it means that when you get back to work you’ll have a clean slate, and the opportunity to look at tasks from a new angle.

Treat Yourself

More than anything, a holiday should be the time for a bit of pampering. Get a massage, buy a fancy dinner, treat yourself to a day at the spa; whatever you choose, make sure it’s something which allows all those stresses to simply melt away. Even if you have the entire family with you, you can snatch some precious minutes after the kids are in bed: light some scented candles, open up a good book and feel yourself unwind.

Even if you aren’t travelling abroad this year you can benefit from following these tips – but if you do think that some sun, sea and sand could help then why not get in touch and find out how we can help you out? With a great range of holiday lets to choose from, we’re sure you’ll find something that strikes your fancy, and if you need more details then it’s as simple as picking up the phone and calling 07977 458126 to speak to our friendly team!
