Golfing in Stunning Brittany

The breathtaking scenery of both coastline and terrain make Brittany a mystical place; the surrounding sea, the forests, and the hills ensure that you have a wonderful experience while golfing. Brittany’s uncrowded and inexpensive golf courses are the perfect, enticing experience for your holidays.

Golf de L’Odet

If you find yourself 12km south of Quimper and near to the beautiful seaside resort of Bénodet, you’ll see L’Odet. This lovely golf course is carved out of more than 250 acres of stunning oak and pine woodland with lakes, fairways, bunkers, and plenty of trees.

At this course, you have the option of playing a 9 or an 18 hole game. Since pets are welcome, you can bring your best friends along and play your best game with their barking in the background. With amenities like a club house, a restaurant, a bar, and golf car and trolley hire, you will enjoy your golfing experience stress free.

Golf de Cornouaille

Opened over 50 years ago, this golf course was designed by the architect Fred Hawtree and it’s located a short drive away from Quimper and Bénodet. Claimed to be one of the oldest courses in the south coast of Brittany, you will find it within the Fouesnant forest and alongside the Bay of Concarneau, just 10 miles south of Quimper.

This impressive course measures 6200 yards with lovely views over the water and the Glénan archipelago. Local birdlife will watch you play the 9 or 18 holes, including swans, ducks, and geese. The imposing 18th century clubhouse is a friendly hub you can’t miss when visiting Quimper-Cornouaille.

Feeling Hungry?

The delicious seafood Brittany is known for is sure to be the perfect end to a delightful golfing day. From shrimp to lobster, you’ll find all the mouth-watering food you could ever ask for. If you’re more of a red meat lover, Brittany has some of the best pork dishes in France, alongside lamb, duck, steak, and chicken.

Locally grown vegetables are the perfect addition to the dishes, followed by a crêpe or a buttery pastry dessert. An apple tart with salted butter caramel and a bit of ice cream is just what you need on a warm summer day after golfing! You can wash down your meal with a lovely Muscadet from the south of Brittany, a cider, or a beer.

Although we understand why you would want to spend your entire holidays golfing, you can also take a break from the heat at local beaches or at the water park of Port de Plaisance.
